Talisman, amulet, charm — what's the difference
These words are close, but there are shades. A charm more often protects — it "guards" against evil and the evil eye (for example, a red thread, the evil eye). An amulet is a personal object worn for protection and luck (a pouch, a rune). A talisman usually attracts something desired — luck, love, prosperity (a horseshoe, a coin). In practice the boundaries are blurred, and a single object can play all three roles.
The most well-known charms
In the reference you will find the horseshoe — a symbol of luck and home protection; the evil eye (nazar) — protection from envy; the pentagram — a sign of the harmony of the elements; the Norse Algiz rune — a charm against dangers; a pouch, a red thread, a bell and an abundance pouch.
