Minchiate is an expanded Florentine variant of Tarot, known since the 16th century; this copy was printed in Florence around 1860–1890. The full deck has 97 cards, and its main feature is an unusually large set of more than 40 trumps (Major Arcana). In addition to the familiar figures, it adds all twelve signs of the zodiac, the four elements and the three theological virtues. This expanded sequence made Minchiate popular both for a complex card game and for allegorical interpretation. Our gallery presents exactly the trump sequence — the most expressive and recognizable part of this deck.
