The teaching of chakras comes from ancient Indian traditions and is used today in yoga, meditation and energy practices. You can learn the meaning of all seven chakras right now: the chakra reference is free and needs no registration.
What chakras are
Chakras are the seven main energy centers located along the spine from the tailbone to the crown. Each chakra rotates and βprocessesβ a certain type of energy, governing its area of life. When all chakras are open and balanced, a person feels harmonious and full; when one is blocked, difficulties arise in the corresponding area.
The seven chakras and their meanings
Muladhara (red) is security and connection to the body. Svadhisthana (orange) is emotions, pleasure and creativity. Manipura (yellow) is will and confidence. Anahata (green) is love and compassion. Vishuddha (blue) is communication and self-expression. Ajna (indigo) is intuition and wisdom. Sahasrara (violet) is spirituality and connection to the higher. Each chakra is described in more detail in the reference.
How to tell which chakra needs attention
Look at your life: problems with confidence point to Manipura, difficulties in relationships to Anahata, fear and instability to Muladhara, trouble expressing yourself to Vishuddha. The βChakra of the dayβ button suggests which center to pay attention to today.
How to work with chakras
Meditation, breathing practices, work with color and sound, and conscious attention to the corresponding area of life help balance the chakras. It is a gentle path to inner harmony. The destiny matrix will help complement your self-discovery.
